Beading & Fringe Patterns
Some basic tips and tricks for creating beadwork and fringe
1. Do not use broken beads!
2. Double the thread so it's stronger and has a backup line in case of breaks.
3. Use waxed thread or wax the thread yourself.
4. Use superglue or frey check on knots to keep them from coming apart.
5. Use an actual beading needle.

Two Ways Of Creating Fringe
Going back though the beads
Going back through the fringe is the way I prefer to do my fringe.  It
leaves no threads hanging and adds more thread the beads will have to
cut through to break the line.  To the right you can see an example of
what I'm describing.  To do this kind of fringe you must thread beads on
till you have your desired lenth and then go back up though the second to
the last bead and all the other beads till you get to the top.  Be sure to
leave a little bit of room so that the string of beads will move easily
instead of being stiff.
Tying it off
This is often the easier way to make your own beaded fringe as you only
go through the beads once.  You will find an illustration of what I'm talking
about to the right.  Simply bead enough beads to get your desired length
and then tie of the end (You have to make the knot big enough that the
beads can not go past it) cut the thread and apply superglue or freycheck
to the knot.  Make sure you don't cut too close to the knot or it will come
undone very easily and quickly.  Leave a little bit of thread between your
knot and where you cut.  In my illustration I have two lines of thread
although you can do this with just one.  I like to use two for eaxtra
strength in my beadwork.
